The Horned King from the Black Cauldron

The Celtic people of Britain left little writing behind, but they did leave behind several carvings of a male deity with horns. One archeological finding, called “The Pillar of the Boatmen” refers to this being as “Cernunnos”.

Early Christains used the image of the Horned One as inspiration for demonic figures, like Satan. In traditional folklore, The Horned One is often linked to stories about the Green Man (possibly the same being). Both the Horned One and the Green man have inspired many characters in fantasy stories.

In modern myths and Pagan religions, the Horned God is revered as a god of nature, sexuality, the wilderness. He is consort to the Triple Goddess.
