Description
A perfume that takes you back in time
Notes: Amber, rose, tobacco, bayleaf, musk, and lavender
This timelessly elegant fragrance blend features classic rose, fresh tobacco, earthy bayleaf and lavender, and sensuous amber and musk. Inspired by the lingering scents left in my grandmother’s collection of Victorian perfume bottles- this hauntingly beautiful scent has surprising depth. Much like the beginning of a classic Victorian gothic novel, the first introductory notes of Victoria are elegant and sweet, but as time goes on- her deeper and darker notes are revealed.
Inspiration: Victorian Gothic Novels
(Carmilla, Wuthering Heights, Jane Er)
“…and to this hour the image of Carmilla returns to mind with ambiguous alterations–sometimes the playful, languid, beautiful girl; sometimes the writhing fiend I saw in the ruined church; and often from a reverie I have started, fancying I heard the light step of Carmilla at the drawing room door.”
― Sheridan Le Fanu, Carmilla
“Be with me always – take any form – drive me mad! only do not leave me in this abyss, where I cannot find you! Oh, God! it is unutterable! I can not live without my life! I can not live without my soul!”
-Emile Bronte, Wuthering Heights

This is the scent that led me to Frau Holle’s Hollow! Long ago, I ordered a sample pack from a different shop, and there was a scent inside that I fell in love with. Unfortunately, that shop had closed so I thought it was gone forever, but I decided to do some hunting and I’m glad I did, because this is it!
I’ve ordered lovely samples from other shops, but this remains my favorite rosy fragrace! It’s so well balanced and has amazing longevity. It makes me feel old-fashioned and classy, but doesn’t fall into ‘powdery’ or ‘dusty’, which I’ve found I’m not fond of when it comes rose scents. Love it!!

Thank you so much for all your reviews! I’m so sorry that you couldn’t find your former favorite, but I’m so glad that Victoria was able to fill that ninche for you!
